The annual Cole Lecture is a public lecture in honour of Francis Cole (1872-1959), Reading’s first professor of Zoology. This year’s lecture will be given by Professor Camille Parmesan. We are delighted that this event is part of the University’s 90th Anniversary celebrations.
The Lecture will commence at 7.30pm in the Lecture Theatre, Henley Business School, at the University’s Whiteknights Campus and you are cordially invited to attend Dinner afterwards.
Professor Parmesan’s ground-breaking work measuring the impact of man-made climate change on animal and plant life has received international acclaim, notably when she was named as an official contributor to the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 2007. In her Cole Lecture, Professor Parmesan will discuss the impacts of climate change on wild species, and the conservation and policy implications of a warmer world.

Travelling by car and parking
If travelling by car please use the sat. nav postcode – RG6 6UR. We recommend you use the Shinfield Road entrance to the University (see link to Whiteknights map above) and follow event signs to car park 4. Once parked, guests are invited to make their way to Henley Business School. The route will be signposted. Parking on the University campus is free and no permit is required after 5.00pm and at weekends.
Public Transport
The University is served by excellent public transport links. Bus and train information is given on the University website, see the link above. The mainline train station is served by a direct link bus service to the campus. The bus route travels through the Whiteknights campus; guests are advised to alight at the Whiteknights House bus stop. Guests can then follow event signs to Henley Business School.
